From the hotel we go to Azapa valley; cerro sombrero and the geoglyphs of La Tropilla which showa natural images in the form of animals and humans together with geometrical shapes. A stop at Cerro Sagrado Las Lloysas, Los Tumulos (burrial sites), Pukara de San Lorenzo, ruines of a 12th century fortress which is built on a artificial base, a place under influence of the local Tiwanaku culture. A visit to San Miguel de Azapa Arquelogical Museum which shows the oldest mommies in the world, these mommies and the pre Inca relics go back as far 10.000 - 5.000 B.C. Before we leave San Miguel we visit one of the oldest cemeteries in the world and fro here we visit the gully of the devil which leads us to Pocon with its 15th century church and cemetery. On our way back to Arica you'll see some rock art (petroglyphs) and the geoglyphs in Rosario show La Rana, El Aguila and the Giant who all date from around 1.000 B.C.
