4 DAYS / 3 NIGHTS: IQUIQUE - COLCHANE - NATIONAL PARK ISLUGA - SALAR SURIRE - NATIONAL PARK LAUCA - ARICA.


Day 1: Iquique - Cariquima - Colchane.


The village of Humberstone remembers of the prosperity that was brought by salt, in the last century. After lunch in Huara; the geo glyphs that show a Puma 900 A.D, a snake (wisdom) and a balance (justice) and the giant of the Atacama. The Altiplano village of Cariquima and its gigantic cactuses of 5 meters high are out stops before we get to Colchane where we spend the night.

Day 2: Colchane - Surire Desert - Putre.

In the morning we get to the villages of Enquelga and Isluga. During our crossing of the National Park Isluga we enjoy a picnic and have a look at Lake Aravilla. At 4200 meters we find the Salt Lake of Surire were we can bath in the hot springs of Polloquere, from where we visit Guallatire and Ancuta in the National Park Vicunas. In the late afternoon we get to Putre where we spend the night.

Day 3: Putre - National Park Lauca - Putre.


On our way to National Park Lauca a small walk at the caves, observing the flora and fauna, the views from Chucuyo and Lake Cotacotani decorate our Altiplano experience. Visiting the village of  Parinacota is another Altiplano delight and next; at 4500 meters we get to Lake Chungara which is the highlight of National Park Lauca. After close looks at the birdlife and lunch has been digested a relaxing dip at the hot springs of Jurasi bring us on our way back to Putre where we arrive in the late afternoon.

Day 4: Putre - Socoroma -  Arica.


On our trip from Putre to Arica we pass by the village of Socoroma and have lunch in Zapahuira. Alter lunch it is time for visits to Pukara Copaquilla, chandelier Cactus, and make a stop in Poconchile. From Lluta we cross over to the valley of Azapa and arrive at Arica.
